- 4x javelin Olympian
- World silver medalist
- Maggie the Dog’s human
At a company full of elite athletes, Kara’s resume still stands out.
Four-time Olympian; nine-time U.S. champion; ranked top ten in the world four times; finished higher than any American woman ever at the world championships (second).
But for all this success, javelin remains a niche sport, so Kara knew she would have to market herself to grow into the career she wanted – coaching, public speaking, forming partnerships with brands, and serving on various USA Track & Field committees. At Parity, she helps athletes like her achieve the same and make a better living through their sport.
Kara holds a B.A. from Purdue University and earned her MBA from Devry University’s Keller Graduate School of Management. Originally from the Pacific Northwest, today she lives in Colorado Springs with her husband Russ and their yellow lab Maddie.
